Free Death Records - There Are Many Sources Available To You

There are many sources of free death records available to even novice family tree research. Many times these sources for your search are already in your home. When you start your search into your family tree you might have picked up the Family Bible and checked the front of it to discover that your ancestors have provided you with a lot of free genealogy search material right at your finger tips. Make sure that you carefully record all of these valuable details as well as the specific family member that currently has the Bible. Throughout your quest for information about your ancestors you will undoubtedly find more references to this same information and you want to be able to double check your notes against the original.

Other sources for free death records that you can search appear in your family's scrapbook. This book is usually a treasured keepsake from your Grandmother and she carefully clipped and glued important newspaper articles and obituaries from generations before. You might be lucky enough to have a detailed genealogy of your ancestors when they first arrived in the region. Newspapers frequently collect this tree information as follow up articles to key events particularly of well respected seniors within the community. Take advantage of this leg work, but again, make sure you carefully record the source in case the information does not match information uncovered later.

One of the best sources of research information about your family tree genealogy is the local library. You can readily spend an afternoon researching all of the books, newspaper obituaries and other free records on your ancestors that are available within their books and articles. Depending on the time period that you are searching you may have to go to the Research Library for your region. This library will have many more historical records that you can research including census microfilm and if you're lucky original birth, marriage and land ownership records that you can use to uncover your families genealogy treasures.
