Have you ever tried to find out about an ancestor in your family tree?
Maybe it was an ancestor, your great aunt, on your father's side, that moved to another country 100 years ago. Maybe, it was a question posed by your son – Where was Grampa born? Or, what country did our family immigrate from?
Each of these questions in itself is very simple. Yet, when you start to search for your ancestor – who knows what you will discover about your ancestry. Searching for your family's roots is a fun hobby that some families have been involved in for hundreds of years. With the evolution of the computer and the world wide web ordinary people have been able to search for their ancestors from the comfort of their own home. Not only have they been able to access lots of information about their ancestors they have been able to contact long lost relatives that only a few decades ago would have taken a lifetime to track down.
